Las Palmas de Gran Canaria regulará el tráfico para repavimentar

The City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, through the Department of Roads and Works and Lighting and within the framework of the 2025 Asphalting Plan, will regulate traffic starting this Sunday, March 23, with street and road closures for repaving in seven neighborhoods.

These works, part of the aforementioned plan with an expected investment of 2.2 million euros for 25 streets in a dozen neighborhoods, will take place at night in Piletas, Cruz del Ovejero, La Minilla, Altavista, and Barranquillo Don Zoilo, as well as in Canalejas and Alcaravaneras with two sections of Paseo de Chil, as reported by the city council in a press release.

The closures will take place from Sunday to Thursday, from 22:00 to 06:00 hours. Thus, the repaving tasks of Phase 1 of the plan, currently being carried out in the Ciudad Alta District, will affect Avenida de Ansite in the La Minilla neighborhood this Sunday.

From Tuesday to Thursday, the works will move to Echegaray Street in Altavista and Párroco Matías Artiles in Barranquillo Don Zoilo; while Phase 2, related to the Tamaraceite-San Lorenzo-Tenoya District, will have closures on the night of next Sunday, March 23, on Galilea Street, which provides access to the neighborhoods of Pileta and Isla Perdida, already paved.

The schedule plans to move the works to Teror Road between Camino de los Melocotoneros and the roundabout of Piletas on Tuesday and Wednesday, in the Cruz del Ovejero neighborhood, although these closures may be subject to modifications depending on the progress of the operation.

Additionally, the city council will begin the asphalting of Paseo de Chil in two sections next week. Specifically, at 22:00 hours on Sunday, traffic closures will begin to start the repaving in the section between the intersection of Castillo de Mata and Ladera de Cuyás, in the Canalejas neighborhood.

From Sunday night, the Carretera General del Norte will be closed from the Miller Bajo roundabout, with the North Lateral Road and the Mata descent remaining open to access Domingo Guerra del Río Street in the San Nicolás neighborhood.

Also closed will be Primero de Mayo Avenue northbound from Buenos Aires Street, the entrance to Paseo de Chil from Bravo Murillo, Ingeniero José Bosch and Sintes Streets; and Paseo de Chil southbound from Capitán Eliseo López Orduña Street.

Once this section is completed, the company in charge of the works will continue with the second section of Paseo de Chil, which extends between Avenida de Escaleritas and the intersection with Olof Palme Street in the Alcaravaneras neighborhood.
