La Palma se destaca como destino exclusivo en un evento en Dinamarca
El Cabildo Insular de La Palma continues its work of positioning and promoting La Isla Bonita as a high-value tourist destination in an exclusive event held at the official residence of the Spanish Ambassador in Denmark, Salvador Rueda Rabanal. The event, organized by Saborea España in collaboration with the Spanish Tourist Office in Copenhagen, brought together influencers, media, entrepreneurs, and professionals in the Danish tourism sector.
La Palma was one of the featured destinations alongside Valencia, Gran Canaria, and Cambrils, presenting its tourism value proposition through a carefully crafted visual presentation that connected live with three iconic locations on the island: Roque de los Muchachos, the coastline of Santa Cruz de La Palma, and the forest of Los Tilos. This innovative presentation showcased the diverse landscapes, scientific potential, and the appeal of a mild climate throughout the year.
Following the presentation, attendees enjoyed a tasting of typical products from La Palma, including traditional dishes and wines with Designation of Origin, prepared by professionals in the local gastronomic sector.
The Councilor for Economic Promotion and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, praised this initiative as «a strategic opportunity to position La Palma on the map of desired destinations by a discerning public seeking authenticity, sustainability, and quality.»
“La Palma has a lot to offer, not only due to its unique nature and sky but also because of a cultural and gastronomic identity that sparks great interest in markets like Denmark, which are increasingly conscious of responsible tourism,” she added.
On her part, the Tourism Councilor of the Cabildo, Raquel Rebollo, emphasized the importance of participating in high-level international events like this, stating that “being present in these types of actions allows us to reinforce the image of La Palma as a distinctive destination, offering a combination of nature, science, culture, and gastronomy. It is a direct and effective way to generate real interest among those who have the ability to influence and prescribe tourism decisions.” Additionally, Rebollo underscored that “Nordic tourism represents a valuable profile for our island, with high purchasing power, respect for the environment, and extended stays. We must continue working to retain this market.”
The Director of the Spanish Tourist Office in Copenhagen, Ignacio Jiménez, also spoke at the event, highlighting the fundamental role of gastronomy “as a driver of tourist attraction and a distinguishing element of the Spanish destination in Nordic countries.”
The Cabildo de La Palma decided to pursue this action considering the growing interest of the Danish market and the air connectivity that is maintained during the winter season, with up to three direct flights per week from Copenhagen, Billund, and Aalborg between October and April.
This initiative is part of the international promotion plan driven by the Cabildo de La Palma, through the public company Sodepal, with the aim of diversifying source markets and consolidating the image of the island as a unique, safe, and competitive destination.
