Exposición del presupuesto de 2025 en La Laguna
The Department of Finance and Economic Services of the City Council of La Laguna held the first of the scheduled meetings with associations and neighborhood collectives this week to explain the main lines of the Council’s budget for the year 2025. This initial meeting took place at the Citizen Center of Los Baldíos, and the next appointment is scheduled for March 26, at the C.C. of San Matías, with representatives from District 3.
The councilor in charge of this Department, Paqui Rivero, thanked all the attendees for their good predisposition to this presentation, where various doubts were raised regarding specific actions and investments for different areas of the municipality, and the process of preparing these general accounts was explained to those present.
The councilor from La Laguna took advantage of this meeting, which lasted more than four hours, to present the main lines of investment for this year, main actions by areas, and the budget management of the local Corporation, to continue promoting transparency in political action, taking into account the considerations and contributions of the citizens.
Finally, the main lines of research and the data provided by the Barometer of La Laguna, promoted by the Economic and Social Forum and developed by the University of La Laguna, were also addressed. Rivero highlighted the great acceptance that these meetings have had, which were held for the first time last year and represent another step in the participatory process promoted by the City Council.
Among the entities that attended this meeting are the associations of seniors from El Granero de San Bartolomé and Beneharo (San Miguel de Geneto), the neighborhood associations Rodeo Alto and Tabajoste (Los Baldíos), and the neighborhood collective of San Bartolomé de Geneto.
Budget 2025
This year, the City Council of La Laguna will have general accounts totaling 226,142,105 euros, a figure that includes the accounts of both the municipal corporation and the Autonomous Organizations of Sports, Musical Activities, the Urban Planning Management, and Muvisa.
Notable investments are in important areas such as Social Welfare (with 24 million euros), Works and Infrastructure (amounting to 19.2 million), and Housing (with 6.2 million in the budget, in addition to the over 27.5 million euros in various items already planned in the Action, Investment, and Financing Program of Muvisa for this year).
