El Ayuntamiento de La Laguna moderniza y refuerza seguridad en Las Carboneras.

The City Council of La Laguna, through the Department of Municipal Services, has completed the improvement and modernization works of the children’s playground in the hamlet of Las Carboneras, in the heart of the Anaga Rural Park. The intervention has strengthened safety and completely renovated this play area, which is now available for the enjoyment of the children in the area in optimal conditions of accessibility and protection.

Among the main improvements made, the installation of a new tower-cabin equipped with a ladder and slide stands out, as well as the relocation of existing spring games, reorganizing the space to facilitate a more comfortable and safe use of the play elements.

The Councilor for Municipal Services, Fran Hernández, highlighted the importance of this intervention, especially in a rural and mountainous environment like Las Carboneras, «from the City Council of La Laguna, we continue working to ensure that all public spaces in the municipality are safe, accessible, and in optimal conditions. In Las Carboneras, we have carried out an important intervention so that families can enjoy this park with peace of mind, knowing that we have reinforced the safety of both the play area and its surroundings,» emphasized the councilor.

In addition, a comprehensive renewal of the shock-absorbing pavement has been carried out, replacing the rubber tiles with ones adapted to the new dimensions of the park. This intervention allows for greater impact absorption and helps minimize the risk of injuries in case of falls.

With the aim of increasing user protection, the City Council has installed safety fences at the boundaries of the children’s area. These barriers serve to prevent minors from accessing the nearby road and to prevent accidental falls from the park access ramp.

Another of the actions has been to secure the slopes adjacent to the children’s enclosure. The cleaning and removal of overflowing soil and stones have been carried out, both on the access ramp and in the play area itself, avoiding the risk of landslides and possible accidents. Likewise, the installation of a new containment fence is planned to reinforce safety against potential landslides.

Hernández also valued the commitment of the City Council to the continuous improvement of children’s playgrounds in all the nuclei of the municipality, «we are renovating and updating these infrastructures, prioritizing the safety of minors and adapting the spaces to current standards and changing the play modules. These types of actions not only improve the quality of life in neighborhoods and hamlets but also promote coexistence and the enjoyment of common spaces,» he added.

The City Council of La Laguna maintains its commitment to continue improving children’s playgrounds and outdoor leisure areas in all population centers, with special attention to rural environments such as the Anaga Rural Park.
