The Government will update the situation at 10:00 p.m. and the islands will be placed on pre-alert for wind
The Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands has reported 290 incidents in the Canary Islands so far as a result of the storm Nuria, which has been affecting the archipelago since this morning.
In the province of Las Palmas, 149 incidents have been managed, and in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a total of 141, as reported by the regional department in a statement.
During the afternoon, these incidents have been concentrated in the metropolitan area of Tenerife and have been related to the fall of trees, fences, and walls onto the roads, as well as some streetlight poles falling in the northern and southern areas of the island.
On the island of La Palma, although there have been problems with the electrical supply, falling telephone poles, and some palm trees, incidents have significantly decreased.
Meanwhile, in Gran Canaria, the municipalities in the north and west have continued to experience some landslides and the fall of trees or streetlights, as well as issues with the electrical supply.
The roads in the western islands and Gran Canaria have experienced some occasional closures due to landslides, mostly, and the fall of trees, branches, as well as electrical and telephone lines. In Gran Canaria, the GC-702 and GC-200 remain closed.
In an assessment of personal damages, apart from the two people who suffered minor injuries this morning due to incidents related to the wind, no medical assistance has been required in the afternoon due to incidents related to this weather event.
The Government of the Canary Islands has reminded the population that until normalcy is restored, it is important to follow the self-protection recommendations advised by the authorities and official sources.

The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands will update the situation starting at 10:00 p.m. this Thursday, and the islands will be placed on pre-alert for wind in the Canary Islands, as the forecast remains for moderate to light westerly winds, with gusts that could be occasionally strong.
Additionally, the pre-alert situation for rain in the islands will end, and the alert situation for coastal phenomena in the archipelago will be maintained.
Furthermore, the pre-alert for wind will be maintained to ensure the monitoring of the incidents recorded today until their resolution.
Likewise, the Government has recommended that activities taking place this Friday and throughout the weekend be reviewed in advance to ensure the stability of the infrastructures.
