
The insular president, Sergio Rodríguez, emphasized the pride that the Cabildo and La Palma feel in having professionals who can work in the fashion industry and represent the Island wherever they go.
The second edition of the Isla Bonita Moda Awards for Talent Made In La Palma, promoted by the Cabildo de La Palma and the public company through the Isla Bonita Project, has recognized professionals in the sector at a gala that highlighted the talent of local creatives.
The insular president, Sergio Rodríguez, highlighted the pride that the Cabildo and La Palma feel in having young professionals dedicated to the world of fashion who carry the name of the Island with them wherever they go, «something that we want to recognize with this second edition of the awards, which is also thanks to those who came before us, and whom we also want to pay tribute to, in this case through the honorary award to Pedro Fierro.»
The Councilor for Economic Promotion and Commerce and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, emphasized the work carried out through the Isla Bonita Moda project to support, promote, and enhance the talent, work, and profession of creatives from La Palma, «who are proof that they can develop their activity from their island and make themselves known abroad.»
In this second edition of the awards, prizes have been awarded in eight categories: main categories: fashion brand, photography and runway model, makeup professionals, hairdressing professionals, fashion photography and audiovisual creation, content creators, and sustainable fashion project. In addition, the honorary award was given to Pedro Ferreiro Rodríguez, better known as «Pedro Orley.»
The jury that decided the winners in each category consisted of members of the Isla Bonita Moda Guarantees Committee, including Jose Toledo, model, television presenter, and gala host; actress and founder of Matiz, Marta Ortiz; Daniela Gutiérrez, creative director, fashion director of NEO2, and founder of Barokah Jewels and Barokah Gang; the director of the Manolo Blahnik School of Art, Mónica Reverón, and Verania Sánchez, a teacher at the same institution.
