The assistance will cover 70% of the eligible project costs, provided that a minimum investment of 3,000 euros is justified.
The Cabildo de La Palma approves the guidelines for a new call for grants aimed at supporting self-employed individuals and businesses directly affected by the volcanic eruption on September 19, 2021.
This support program, targeting those registered in the Registry of Individuals Affected by the Volcanic Eruption, aims to boost economic recovery through investments in infrastructure, modernization, digitalization, innovation, and diversification into sectors such as circular, green, and blue economies.
The President of the Cabildo, Sergio Rodríguez, emphasizes that «this is a support measure for self-employed individuals, including agricultural and maritime self-employed individuals, and other businesses affected by the volcano, so they can cope with investments. Therefore, exceptionally, we have agreed to provide advance payment. This flexibility is crucial to ensure that those affected can rebuild their businesses quickly and effectively.»
On the other hand, the Minister of Employment, Fernando González, highlights that one of the main novelties of this call is the possibility of an advance payment of up to 2,950 euros, to facilitate access to initial investment. The assistance will cover 70% of the eligible project costs, provided that a minimum investment of 3,000 euros is justified.
The available credit for this call amounts to 800,000 euros, from the island’s budget. The guidelines have been published today in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and applications can be submitted once the official call is published. From that moment, interested parties will have 30 business days to submit their application.
The grants are compatible with other grants or resources for the same purpose, from any other public administration or private entity. Eligible expenses can be incurred from the day following the granting resolution until February 28, 2026.
