With the beginning of summer, lines 1 and 2 will operate on weekdays, from Monday to Friday, every 6 and 12 minutes
At the beginning of July, the final frequencies will be applied for the rest of the summer period
Metrotenerife will apply the summer schedule on the tram service starting next Monday, and will do so in two phases to adjust the transportation offer to the demand of the season. Thus, Line 1 will operate during peak hours on weekdays with frequencies of 6 minutes, while Line 2 will do so every 12 minutes.
The activation of the summer schedule will only apply from Monday to Friday. Thus, during weekends and holidays, trams will maintain their usual frequencies and schedules, with uninterrupted service throughout the night, as reported by the public company in a statement.
They explain that the summer schedule is adapted in phases. From June 30 to July 6, Line 1 will operate every 6 minutes from 07:00 to 15:00 hours, from Monday to Friday (weekdays), and then space out its stops with intervals of 7 and 15 minutes, until the service ends at midnight. For Line 2, trams will run every 12 minutes at the same schedule and then with frequencies of 14 and 15 minutes.
IN JULY, NEW ADJUSTMENT
Just like last year, Metrotenerife will adjust the tram transportation offer to the demand that occurs in the middle of summer on weekdays. Thus, on Monday, July 7, Line 1 will have a frequency of 7 minutes and Line 2 of 14 minutes, mainly. This summer schedule will last until early September.
From Monday to Friday, the tram service will still be punctually conditioned by the strike carried out by the company’s workers. The situation will affect the morning, noon, and night shifts. During the strike periods, the lines will maintain their operation with a minimum service of 80%.
