Calero Marinas will maintain operational management alongside Nauplia Capital
ARRECIFE (LANZAROTE), 4 (EUROPA PRESS)
Buenavista Infrastructure and Nauplia Capital have formalized the acquisition of a majority stake in Marina Lanzarote, a sports marina located in the Bay of Naos in Arrecife.
In this new arrangement, and to ensure continuity, Calero Marinas will remain a shareholder and will continue to manage the asset alongside Nauplia Capital.
Marina Lanzarote is a strategic facility that combines three lines of activity: 378 moorings for rent, 84 commercial premises and terraces, and the only dry dock for ‘superyachts’ in the Canary Islands, with an area of 16,920 m2. In total, the marina covers approximately 100,000 m2.
OPERATION CHANNELLED THROUGH URUK CAPITAL
In a statement, Buenavista Infrastructure has explained that the operation has been channeled through Uruk Capital, a vehicle specialized in the development of sports marinas in Spain and Portugal, participated by Buenavista and Nauplia Capital.
The closing has had the collaboration of various advisors, ILV Silver and Ramón y Cajal on the Buyer’s side and DC Advisory and Cuatrecasas on the Seller’s side who have advised and contributed to the success of the transaction.
This operation is the second acquisition carried out by Uruk, following the addition of Marina Port Premià to the portfolio in April 2024.
The partners of Uruk thus reinforce their development strategy in the sports marina sector, based on the identification of consolidated assets with operational improvement capacity, long-term attractiveness, and a solid positioning in Spain and Portugal.
FOURTH ADDITION FOR BUENAVISTA INFRASTRUCTURES
In addition, for Buenavista Infraestructuras Iberia, this represents the fourth addition to the portfolio. This portfolio already includes the projects of the Eresma Highway, a shadow toll road between Segovia and Cuéllar, which is used daily by more than 9,000 vehicles; as well as Xoople, a company dedicated to collecting land surface data for application in Artificial Intelligence solutions for transportation, civil engineering, and climate change; and Marina Port Premià, located 20 km from Barcelona and added to the portfolio in April 2024.
Regarding this, the managing partner of Buenavista Infrastructure, Juan José Clavería, stated that with the acquisition of this marina, «we reinforce our commitment to the sports marina sector, which we consider very attractive due to its low risk, its ability to generate recurring income, and its good returns.»
«This new project — he concluded — represents an important step towards our goal of having a diversified portfolio for our low-risk infrastructure fund with adequate profitability.»
