King Felipe VI will preside over the events scheduled for the Day of the Armed Forces in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Friday, June 6, which will consist of a Naval Review and a dynamic exhibition.
The organization has reported that His Majesty will first embark on the maritime action ship ‘Tornado’ to preside over the Naval Review starting at 3:00 pm.
Subsequently, the King will move to the central Playa de Las Alcaravaneras in the capital of Gran Canaria, where, at 4:30 pm, there will be a dynamic exhibition featuring a demonstration of capabilities with naval, aerial, Marine Infantry, and disembarkation means by the Navy.
In addition, the Army will conduct a reconnaissance of the beach with a medical evacuation and a dynamic demonstration of sampling and NBQ decontamination.
Meanwhile, the Civil Guard will carry out a simulation of intercepting high-speed boats dedicated to drug trafficking with the participation of maritime and aerial assets and a final arrest on the beach; and the UME will bring two boats to the beach with canine and rescue teams and a demonstration of searching for buried persons.
Finally, the event will conclude with a flypast by the Patrulla Águila and an exhibition of a C-16 fighter from the Air and Space Army.
