FormaemPléate reúne a estudiantes de FP en CIFP Virgen de Candelaria.

The FormaemPléate professions showcase, which in 2024 brought together more than fifty companies and six hundred students from various educational centers in Tenerife, is dedicating its third edition to the industrial sector today and tomorrow, under the theme ‘Driving the Future’, at CIFP Virgen de Candelaria.

Tomorrow, during its open day, the arrival of five hundred students from different centers is expected, with activities focused on sharing experiences, professional guidance, workshops, and showcasing and visiting stands organized by professional families.

Today’s showcase brought together companies and institutions, with the presence of the president of the Tenerife Island Council, Rosa Dávila, as well as the Education Councilor Poli Suárez, among others, as reported by the regional department in a statement.

Following the inauguration, the role of the business sector in implementing Dual Vocational Training (FP Dual) was discussed in the presentation «The role of companies in the new FP». At the end, the Director General of Vocational Training and Special Regime Education, Carolina León, delved into the need to align the labor market and new teachings with the training offerings and sector needs.

Representatives from companies such as Hune Rental (LoxamHume), Litografía Romero, Tenerife Shipyards, Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife, SA (TITSA), and Wooptix participated in the presentation «Good practices in Dual Vocational Training: companies and organizations».

Additionally, the panel discussion «Designing professional profiles» brought together the Industrial Association of Automobile Repair Workshops (ASINTRA), the Chamber of Commerce, the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), both from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Association of Vocational Training Centers FPEmpresa, and the Canary Islands Employment Service.

The Education Councilor has shown his commitment to the new model designed for Vocational Training (FP) in the Canary Islands, which he believes is «aligned with the real needs of the citizens and the productive sector». He argued that these professional teachings «must become one of the key drivers for the economic and social development of the Canary Islands.»

He highlighted the new training offerings for FP throughout the Canary Islands, with the implementation of 151 new groups and the creation of two virtual courses, allowing students to continue their education remotely and only attend the evaluation test at a center on their island of residence. This offering complements the existing cycles and courses.

Suárez emphasized the willingness to work together in various areas, such as continuing to promote the dual model, improving infrastructure, incorporating innovation, enhancing training in emerging sectors, and strengthening collaboration with companies.

He stressed that collaboration with the private sector must be one of the essential pillars in the implementation and development of the new vocational training in the Canary Islands.
