Mejora en accesos de Tazacorte sur con repavimentación de vías clave
The performance will improve the road between the San Miguel roundabout and the access to La Laguna, facilitating the connection with the new coastal road.
The Cabildo de La Palma approves the repaving project of the LP-2 and LP-215 roads, key routes for the southern access of Tazacorte. In the latter case, it concerns the road section that reaches the new Carretera de La Costa. The initiative, with a budget of 460,512.58 euros, aims to improve the pavement surface in the affected sections, reinforcing safety and traffic flow in the area.
The President of the Cabildo, Sergio Rodríguez, reiterates the government group’s commitment to improving the road network. In this regard, he highlights the importance of actions like the one promoted in Tazacorte, which will improve the road between the San Miguel roundabout and the access to La Laguna, facilitating the connection with the new coastal road.
«These are strategic actions because they guarantee the connectivity and mobility of those who live and visit the municipality. We are an island, so roads are essential for the transportation of goods, access to basic services, and the development of tourism,» says the President.
On the other hand, the Infrastructure Councillor, Darwin Rodríguez, emphasizes the importance of this action to improve access to the southern area of Tazacorte, ensuring safer and more efficient roads for the citizens.
«Furthermore, improving these roads better prepares us for emergencies, ensuring safe routes for evacuations and the response of emergency teams,» adds the councillor.
The project includes the rehabilitation of the road from PK52+530 to PK52+870 (San Miguel roundabout), as well as the section that connects the LP-215 from PK00+000 to PK1+550, allowing better access to the La Laguna neighborhood and its connection with the new coastal road LP-2132.
The works include the application of a new 5 cm thick layer of bituminous mixture, correction of potholes and ruts, as well as the adaptation of manholes, wells, and drains.
