Eleven months of work
During the event, the management teams and students of the PFAE programs shared their work experience during these eleven months. The participants of the ‘Fuerteventura bets on its local products’ PFAE were trained in basic knowledge for cheese production. The participants obtained a professional cheese certification in a program that seeks to guarantee generational succession and highlight an important craft of the Majorcan economy. On the other hand, the ‘Fuerteventura Play’ PFAE focused on a new and emerging sector, training fifteen worker-students in web page design and publication. They also conducted workshops and E-sport events in educational centers in Antigua, Puerto del Rosario, and La Oliva, senior centers, the Sociosanitary Residence of Puerto del Rosario, the Intellectual Disability Day Center, and several cultural centers.
Likewise, the ‘Fuerteventura a destination with flavor’ PFAE trained the participants in bar and cafeteria services, providing services throughout the year in preschool and primary educational centers, the II Canarian Congress of Cancer Patients and Families, other events related to healthy habits, and managing the cafeteria at the Training and Congress Palace. Additionally, the ‘Fuerteventura Blooms for You’ PFAE was developed, training participants in gardening while enhancing the island’s landscape, promoting the integration of the landscape in different tourist spaces, and working in preschool and primary educational centers, La Tunera Park in Corralejo, and the Biological Station of La Oliva.
Under the title ‘Hidroventura’ PFAE, another program focused on training for the assembly, commissioning, and maintenance of water supply and distribution networks, in coordination with the Fuerteventura Water Supply Consortium. They worked on the maintenance of the three production centers (Puerto del Rosario, Gran Tarajal, and Corralejo), pumping stations, network extensions, and other infrastructures.
The participants also received additional training in occupational hazards, information society, job orientation, languages, and other transversal skills.
