A man is in critical condition after being rescued with signs of drowning on a beach in La Oliva, Fuerteventura, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center of 112 in the Canary Islands.
The incident occurred at 3:22 p.m. on Friday at El Moro beach in the mentioned municipality, where personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) were dispatched after being alerted that four people were in distress about 100 meters from the coast at the mentioned beach.
While emergency resources were being mobilized to the beach, personnel from the Red Cross Beach Rescue Service rescued three affected individuals, while the fourth managed to reach the shore on their own.
Once there, the SUC medical team attended to the man who showed symptoms of severe incomplete drowning, so he was first transferred to the Corralejo health center and then to the Fuerteventura General Hospital.
Emergency personnel from the La Oliva Fire and Rescue Service also arrived at the scene, collaborating with the deployed resources, while local police officers carried out the necessary procedures.
