Fuerteventura fortalece su imagen turística en Alemania con éxito

Marlene Figueroa confirms in Berlin with the Ambassador of Spain in Germany, Pascual Navarro, and the Secretary of State for Tourism, Rosario Sánchez Grau, the high demand from the German market to the Island and the increase in regular air connectivity scheduled for 2025 and 2026. 

The prestigious German news portal on tourism ‘Touristik Aktuell’ has projected the image of Fuerteventura as a Blue destination during the ITB Fair week in Berlin to industry professionals in Germany

In the context of the International ITB Fair in Berlin 2025, the Tourism Councillor of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Marlene Figueroa, has held a meeting with the Ambassador of Spain in Berlin, Pascual Navarro, and the Secretary of State for Tourism (SET), Rosario Sánchez Grau, in which she has compared data on the demand from the German market to Fuerteventura, hiring forecasts for 2025 and 2026, and increases in regular air connectivity, acknowledging the work being done. 

Marlene Figueroa has indicated that in Fuerteventura, we are waiting for the Government of the Canary Islands, sooner rather than later, to publish the Call for the Flight Development Fund to consolidate regular air connectivity in the short term, and thus provide guarantees to the sector and the destination as a whole. 

Tour operators and airlines anticipate that Easter has a guaranteed occupancy on the Island above 90%, warn that the profiles of tourists from Germany are changing, and emphasize that the promotional proposal of Blue Tourism from the Tourism Board with its wide range of Product Clubs responds very well to these new segments emerging. 

On this third day of the professional fair, Marlene Figueroa and the team of the Tourism Board have also met with executives from the international reservation platform Amadeus, the tour operator Legends Tour, TUI Cruises, and the airline Fly Edelweiss, with whom strategies are being developed to improve tourist profiles towards segments that tend to generate higher spending on the island, all in coordination with the municipalities of the Island. 

The prestigious German news portal on tourism Touristik Aktuell has projected the image of Fuerteventura as a Blue destination during the ITB Fair week in Berlin, reaching all industry professionals in Germany and with a media impact that complements the actions and meetings held during the fair. 

At the conclusion of ITB 2025, the Tourism Councillor of Fuerteventura wanted to specially thank the companies in the destination that participated in this fair in collaboration with the Tourism Board, the representatives of the tourist municipalities, the media, the workers and promoters, and in general all professionals who contribute to making Fuerteventura a quality destination.
