A 49-year-old woman is in serious condition after suffering a diving accident on the coast of Lanzarote this Thursday, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center of 112 in the Canary Islands.
The incident occurred at 09:39 on the pier of Puerto del Carmen, in the municipality of Tías, where the 112 was alerted that a woman was in cardiopulmonary arrest after a diving accident and resuscitation maneuvers were being performed on her.
A nurse from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC), present in the operational room, provided instructions via teleassistance to the caller to continue caring for the affected person until the arrival of medical resources.
Once the SUC personnel arrived at the scene, they assisted the affected person, confirming that she had regained a pulse. After stabilizing her, she was transferred in serious condition, by a medicalized ambulance, to the Hospital Doctor José Molina Orosa.
Local Police and Civil Guard officers also arrived at the scene, collaborating with the other emergency resources and carrying out the necessary procedures.
