Portal de Noticias del Gobierno de Canarias: Agilización de pagos del POSEI para papa y producción láctea

Narvay Quintero reviewed in the Plenary of the Parliament of the Canary Islands the actions of the Executive to expedite the payment of POSEI funds to potato and dairy production in the last two campaigns
The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Food Sovereignty of the Government of the Canary Islands, Narvay Quintero, has outlined today, Tuesday, July 8, in a plenary session of the Canarian Parliament, the administrative simplification measures implemented by the department to expedite the processing and payment of certain lines of action covered in the Program of Specific Options for Remoteness and Insularity (POSEI).
In this regard, Quintero emphasized that «the payments for surface production and marketing aid for potatoes in the last two campaigns were made in June as a result of the measures we have promoted to facilitate the economic management of their operations for professionals in our primary sector.»
With the same objective, the department led by Quintero implemented last year’s campaign in 2024 «the advance payment of aid from POSEI for dairy production of cattle, goats, and locally sourced sheep, whose payment changed from annual to semi-annual.»
In this respect, the department head explained that «despite the willingness of this Government to also expedite the processing of other support lines, EU legislation imposes administrative checks and additional controls that do not allow us to extend the scope of these measures to all actions of this program,» he added.
In this streamlining of procedures, the minister highlighted the elimination of double processing in the case of additional POSEI and community POSEI, and that the issuance of health guides in applications for animal movement has become a telematic process with immediate response through the Electronic Headquarters.
In addition to the elimination of intermediary procedures, the Ministry is also working on improving information services for applicants by preparing an explanatory processing guide, as well as a frequently asked questions section on the Electronic Headquarters and the Ministry’s website.
In this regard, the General Directorate of Livestock has already included on its website a section that addresses the most common doubts in the main procedures, available through the link: www.gobiernodecanarias.org/ganaderia/servicios/Tramites/tramites_frecuentes.html
