Firefighters from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria rescued the lifeless body of a fisherman this Friday, who was partially submerged in the area near the tetrapods of the Maritime Avenue of the Gran Canarian capital, at the height of the Public Library, as reported by the city’s firefighters.
The recovery of the lifeless body of the man occurred after, around 2:25 pm, the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands was alerted that a person’s body was floating in the sea, in the vicinity of the tetrapods, on the coast of the San Telmo area of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, as reported by the 112 of the Canary Islands.
Firefighters arrived at the scene, accessed the affected individual, and proceeded with the rescue, while personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) could only confirm the man’s death.
Additionally, agents from the Local Police also arrived at the scene, collaborating with the resources deployed to the location, while National Police officers guarded the deceased’s body until the arrival of the judicial authority and carried out the corresponding proceedings.
