La current Health Counselor of the Government of the Canary Islands, Esther Monzón, who is also a member of the Insular Executive Committee of Coalición Canaria (CC) Gran Canaria, has put forward her candidacy for the General Secretariat of CC in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Monzón, with a «broad professional trajectory and a strong connection to the values and principles of Canarian nationalism, has decided to take this step with the goal of «strengthening the presence of CC» in the capital of Gran Canaria, promoting citizen participation and consolidating a «solid alternative» to the current municipal management model, as reported by the nationalist party in a press release.
She stated that she presents her candidacy with the commitment to create a «firm, close, and focused» proposal on the real problems of citizens, affirming that her candidacy «emerges with the enthusiasm to build, together with all the members, a political project that connects» with social demands and defends the party’s identity, as well as the future.
She has also expressed her intention to lead a collective and participatory project, accompanied by a «plural, experienced, and reinforced team, that values the work of the party’s base.»
