Ayuntamiento de Santa Lucía de Tirajana activa Plan de Emergencia ante la borrasca Claudia
Durante la jornada del martes y miércoles la Policía Local y Protección Civil han revisado algunas zonas críticas como cauces de barranco y se ha prohibido el aparcamiento cerca de esos cauces.
En la reunión convocada por el alcalde estuvieron presentes el concejal de Protección Civil, Francisco Guedes, el edil de Servicios Públicos, José Miguel Vera, el concejal de Atención Social Comunitaria, Saúl Goyes, el edil de Movilidad, Leví Ramos y la concejala de Cultura, Yaiza Pérez. También asistieron responsables de Policía Local, Protección Civil y del área de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales. El Ayuntamiento permitirá realizar teletrabajo al personal que reside fuera del municipio, salvo en el caso de personal de Emergencia y Servicios Esenciales.

The Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council has activated the Municipal Emergency Plan (PEMU) in response to the arrival of Storm Claudia to the islands. The mayor convened Emergency services, Civil Protection, Local Police, and various municipal departments such as Culture, Sports, and Occupational Risk Prevention. During the meeting held this morning, it was decided to close sports facilities starting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. On Thursday, Early Childhood Education Centers, centers for people with disabilities, Alzheimer’s centers, senior centers, afternoon centers, Children’s City, and all activities in sports and cultural centers in the municipality will be closed.
From this afternoon, personnel from Social Services, Public Services, Civil Protection, Local Police, Street Cleaning, and Public Health are activated. At the end of the meeting, Mayor Francisco García announced, «We have decided to close sports facilities starting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. We are also preparing the installation of a shelter that will be open all night, with 50 beds and meals to assist homeless people or those with problems in their homes. Red Cross will manage this shelter, which will be set up in the Doctoral sports hall.»
The mayor added, «The Social and Community Care department is working on the streets with homeless people to inform them of the problems that the storm could cause and the opening of the shelter tonight.» Special cleaning has also been carried out in ravines and drains in recent days. During Tuesday and Wednesday, the Local Police and Civil Protection have inspected critical areas such as ravine beds and parking near those areas has been prohibited.
In the meeting convened by the mayor, the Councilor for Civil Protection, Francisco Guedes, the Councilor for Public Services, José Miguel Vera, the Councilor for Social and Community Care, Saúl Goyes, the Councilor for Mobility, Leví Ramos, and the Councilor for Culture, Yaiza Pérez were present. Also in attendance were officials from the Local Police, Civil Protection, and the Occupational Risk Prevention area. The City Council will allow telecommuting for employees residing outside the municipality, except for Emergency and Essential Services personnel.
