A man has died and another has been seriously injured in a traffic accident involving three vehicles in Antigua, on the island of Fuerteventura, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center of 112 in the Canary Islands.
The incident occurred at 07:50 on the FV-20 road, at kilometer point 23 approximately, in the municipality of Antigua, and personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) attended the scene. Along with an off-duty SUC emergency medical technician who provided initial care at the scene, they confirmed the death of one of the individuals, who was trapped in one of the vehicles.
SUC personnel also attended to another man who had fallen down an embankment after being ejected from the vehicle, finding that he had suffered various serious injuries. He was stabilized and transported by SUC medical ambulance to the Fuerteventura General Hospital.
Firefighters from the Fuerteventura Island Fire Prevention, Extinguishing, and Rescue Service (SPEIS) also arrived at the scene to secure the accident vehicles and assist with other emergency resources. Meanwhile, Guardia Civil officers regulated traffic on the road and conducted the corresponding investigation.
