La Palma destaca en el Salón Gourmets con siete marcas locales
La Isla Bonita participates with a record representation in the largest showcase of gourmet products in Europe under the Saborea La Palma label.
La Palma has showcased its gastronomic potential at the 38th edition of the Salón Gourmets, held from April 7 to 10 in Madrid, establishing itself as a reference destination for culinary tourism. Under the Saborea La Palma label, a total of seven local brands have represented the Isla Bonita at this international event, considered the most important showcase for quality food and beverages in Europe.
The Cabildo de La Palma, through the public company Sodepal and its Saborea La Palma project, has promoted this prominent participation with the aim of making the excellence of Palmero products visible and positioning them in an increasingly demanding and specialized market.
The island’s president, Sergio Rodríguez, and the councilor for Economic Promotion and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, attended this important professional fair, where they reaffirmed the Cabildo’s commitment to continue positioning La Palma as a top-level gastronomic destination. «This work is not only carried out by Saborea La Palma, but also in close collaboration with the departments of Tourism, Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, because behind each product we present is an intense and committed effort from the primary sector of the island, whose hard work guarantees an extraordinarily high-quality raw material,» Rodríguez stated.
Councilor Perestelo added, «The combination of this excellent raw material, the talent of those who transform it, and the promotion strategy we develop from the institutions is key to continue diversifying the tourism that attracts the island, betting on a unique gastronomic offer with its own identity.»
In this edition, La Palma has achieved its record participation with the presence of the brands Ron Aldea, Mi Dulce Pastel, Vinos Mergus, Vega Norte, Bruco La Palma, as well as the renowned mojos Regina and Sicilia. All of them have shown the professional public the richness and diversity of an island that is increasingly attracting interest from distributors, restaurateurs, and specialized media.
