Fuerteventura Film Commission and the Audiovisual Cluster of the Canary Islands are offering this training on sustainable film shoots from July 14 to 18
Fuerteventura Film Commission and the Audiovisual Cluster of the Canary Islands remind that the registration deadline for the Green Filming course remains open until July 4. The initiative, free of charge for students, is aimed at individuals interested in acquiring specialized training in sustainable film shoots.
This is the first of several training sessions planned by Fuerteventura Film Commission and the Audiovisual Cluster, in collaboration with the OFF ESCAC program of the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya (ESCAC).
The councilor of Fuerteventura Film Commission, Nereida Calero, emphasizes that with these actions, the opportunity is created to «create beneficial teaching spaces for the island, having nature care as a highlighted element».
The teaching period runs from July 14 to 18, with the intention of providing students with tools and knowledge to apply sustainable practices in audiovisual production. Registrations will be open until July 4 and can be done through the link.
The training will take place in room B of the Palacio de Formación y Congresos de Fuerteventura. The established schedule is from Monday to Thursday, from 9:00 to 13:30 and from 14:30 to 18:30, complemented by a tutoring session on Friday from 15:00 to 17:00. The teacher for this in-person course is Yanira Cáceres and it is aimed at individuals aged 16 and older. Cáceres explains that «all techniques for calculating the carbon footprint of projects will be addressed, working with sustainability certification processes, and understanding the regulations and procedures for carrying out audiovisual productions in Fuerteventura».
Participation is free for students, although a deposit of 50 euros is required, which will be fully refunded as long as the student attends at least 80% of the classes and is evaluated as competent by the teaching staff. Upon completion, a certificate signed by the ESCAC management will be awarded.
The program is financed by the Ministry of Culture, the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), and the Next Generation Funds of the European Union.
