El Parque Cultural Islas Canarias avanza hacia su apertura en 2026

The works of this infrastructure funded by the Canary Islands Development Fund are progressing well and meeting the established deadlines in this stage of the island government’s actions.

The President of the La Palma Island Council, Sergio Rodríguez, highlights the importance of this building for the development of culture on the island, especially in the Aridane Valley.

The La Palma Island Council continues to work on the construction works for the future opening of the Canary Islands Cultural Park in Los Llanos de Aridane, a significant infrastructure project financed by the Canary Islands Development Fund (Fdcan). The expectation is that it will become a definite reality by early 2026.

The President of the island Corporation, Sergio Rodríguez, has visited the construction works of this building along with the Infrastructure and Culture Councillors, Darwin Rodríguez and Pablo Díaz Cobiella, respectively, and the Mayor of Los Llanos de Aridane, Javier Llamas.

Sergio Rodríguez emphasizes the commitment of the Corporation to move forward with this key project to promote the social, cultural, and economic development of the Aridane Valley, positioning it as a reference point by having this important space to host conferences and events.

The President is pleased with the progress of the works being carried out to make this project a reality, which has been delayed since its inception and is «taking shape to become a multifunctional space key to the culture on our island,» he argues.

On his part, Javier Llamas highlights that this will become one of the most important cultural spaces on the island. «This building is approaching its final phase thanks to the commitment of the La Palma Island Council, a space that will have over 600 seats and will allow all the people of the municipality and the island to enjoy,» he points out.

The infrastructure, which will be managed by the island, and whose main building is a theater-auditorium, had an initial budget of 11.8 million euros, which will now exceed 13 million euros after the latest modification.

The main structure of the Canary Islands Cultural Park is configured as a hermetic base with different volumes, with the roof being a plaza. This same construction also houses offices, toilets, a cafeteria, lobbies, and two separate conference rooms.

The rest of the plot includes an open space, resembling a park-plaza. This space will have a kiosk and a sculpture, which will also serve as a viewpoint and communication hub between different levels of the park. Similarly, an underground building, called Sala Barranco, is planned to be used as a conference room.
